We wanted to quickly draw your attention to the recently
published monograph Long History, Deep Time,
which is edited by Ann McGrath and Mary Anne Jebb and is now available to
download (for free) on the ANU Press website. In addition to Martin Porr’s own contribution, Lives and Lines: Integrating molecular genetics, the ‘origins of
modern humans’ and Indigenous knowledge, there are many fascinating chapters in this volume that are
relevant to our upcoming workshop on Decolonisation and Human Origins, especially
in regards to the theme of ‘time’, the relations between Indigenous and
non-Indigenous understandings of human history, and the political dimensions of
deep history.
